Things I consider: Price, professional looking page, Ease of use, and getting traffic.
anyone who has great luck with a host let me know. I know of godaddy, yahoo, intuit, and a few more.
Best answer:
Answer by Domain
Have you looked at http://Yola.com ?
Excellent free and easy to use website builder and web hosting.Try building on a free sub-domain to start off with and then upgrade to your own paid domain name when you’ve built your business website and you’re ready to promote it.
Getting traffic means you’re going to have to pay for advertising with Google/Yahoo etc or that you’ll have to learn some SEO alchemy and work hard to build link popularity across the web.

I have 5 sites with them all under their gold plan as addon domains are a great way to drive traffic to your main site and I only pay $8.84/mo for all 5. If you are after just one domain then just pay $4.84 per month. Great value for everything you get.

Don’t use free services to set up your website. Free services offer a sub-domain, not a real domain name. This means your site address will be something like http://yoursite.freewebs.com, not http://www.yoursite.com. This way your website doesn’t look professional. On the other hand, there are some limitations with free web hosting services. In a word, if you want to have a serious presence on the web, you must pay for it. I recommend get a reliable company to do that in return for a few dollars.
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
You can reach reviews about this web hosting provider and its latest DISCOUNT COUPONS at:
http://www.threehosts.com/reviews/1st
Only $3.95 /month (with discount coupon)
******IMPORTANT********
* This service was awarded the “Best Web Hosting OF The Year”.
* If you sign up for this service you will have $75 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo search engines for free!
* You Can Register A Free Domain or Use Your Existing Domains. They Support All Domain Names.

For that I’d recommend you a few reliable web hosting service providers. You can directly search the exact type of web hosting you are looking for directly by searching on http://www.webhostingchoice.com/. Here on this site they can read reviews and at the same time buy a plan on a web hosting server. Very informative web site which reviews web hosting providers.

Ross,
There is a big difference between regular web hosting and a “free” site. Free sites offer a sub domain instead of a real domain. With a free site you are really just a guest and its difficult if not near impossible to get real traffic, or make money. Free sites are for personal websites where you tell a couple of friends and thats as far as it goes.
If you want your site to get a lot of traffic, be popular, or generate income, you need a web host. Some of the more popular are Justhost, Bluehost, Fatcow.
I help people get started with their own websites and I dont charge to help. Feel free to contact me.

For a free hosting site, I recommend one of the following:
http://wordpress.com
http://www.officelive.com/en-us

For a business website, you want to avoid free web hosting. Free hosting is supported by advertising, which means their ads will be on your website. Also, you usually can’t use your own domain name – your domain name at a free host will be a subdomain like “yourname.freehost.com”, which is not acceptable for a real business.
Low cost hosting is the way to go if you are just starting out. Beware of the $4.95 hosts though. You usually have to pay 2 years up front to get that price. If you pay monthly, the price almost doubles and you have to pay an additional setup fee, which just isn’t worth it.
Based on what you described in your question, I recommend you use Hostgator as your web host. Their baby plan is inexpensive, with no contract or setup fee and provides you with everything you are looking for. Including:
* Easy-to-use web hosting control panel with free video tutorials
* Free SiteBuilder and SiteStudio Website Building Tools
* 4,500 Free Professional Website Templates
* 52 Free scripts can be instantly installed on your account with a few clicks
* $100 Google Adwords credit to advertise your business
* 99.99% up-time (independently measured) for a reliable website
* Outstanding 24/7 customer support
* Online Support Portal with over 500+ Video Tutorials and 680+ Help Articles
* Excellent all-around reputation with customers and in the hosting industry
* Unlimited domains, subdomains, email accounts, FTP accounts and MySQL databases
* 45-Day Money-Back Guarantee
I use Hostgator myself and have had a great experience with them. Their templates look great, my websites load quickly, access is reliable and their support staff is friendly and quick to respond to questions and issues. I have not had any problems with my hosting account or my websites the entire time I have used Hostgator as my web host. I highly recommend them.

I have 4 sites that you can choose from that are really great sites that won’t disappoint I promise.
http://www.000webhost.com/224273.html
With this web hosting they have a lot of space and bandwidth so your site can grow and your can store a lot of things for your site as well as a blog and photo gallery. Basically it should fit all of your needs.
http://www.watercroft.net
With this web hosting you get a decent amount of space and bandwidth for a very small price, plus you can register a domain through them at low cost. Not to mention when you use the discount code ‘disturbedgrl88′ (no space or quotations) you get 10% off your purchase of web hosting or a domain name.
http://texasdatahost.co.cc
The premier web hosting with FREE one year domain on ALL of their hosting plans, all plans have a significant amount of space and bandwidth and at low costs for domains after your one year is up for your FREE domain, $39.00 USD will pay for the domain to be registered for 4 extra years, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than registering for just 1 year with Register.com
http://9c6038e1.zxxo.net
With this web host you get a variety of packages to choose from, I suggest going with the basic plan if you want to try the free version first. You get 1000 MB of space and 20GB of Bandwidth on the basic plan which is well enough for most sites that are just starting out. You can always upgrade to the paid versions if you want to
Hope this helps you.

Check out http://cheapwebhosts.org for a good list of hosting companies to choose from. Hostgator is the best cheap one. My company is using them since the last 8 years and have been happy always. You can try them for free too if you look at this tutorial at http://cpanelwebsitehosting.com
If you want free hosting and do not mind the ads and other limitations, go find a good free hosting at http://websitehostingfree.org – Yola is good and your website can look professional. Godaddy is good too with free hosting.
Have fun.
