I currently have a free website with Yahoo Geocities. I was wondering if I could use Google Adsense on it. Or is there something that states I can’t do that with Yahoo? All the terms and conditions are a little confusing.

Not with the free Geocities account. The problem is that the free Geocities account contain free Yahoo Publishers network ads — which are considered as competing ads.
    From the program policies https://www.google.com/adsense/support/b…
    Competitive Ads and Services
We do not permit Google ads or search boxes accessing Google search services to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads or services. If you have elected to receive contextually-targeted Google ads, this would include all other contextually-targeted ads or links on the same page as Google ads. This would also include ads throughout the site that mimic Google ads or otherwise appear to be associated with Google on your site.

Once you have the adsense account, you should be able to place the code on a site no matter where it’s hosted.
