Question by adithya: how can i implement search engine optimization for my website ???

Best answer:

Answer by John T
firstly, you need to choose a keyword phrase that you want to be picked up by search engines. That phrase should be in your headline and text at least three times. Also, choose your keywords wisely and target your market. Have betweeen 5 and 10 keywords and make sure they are all in your text at least 3 times.

Once you have your page made, use social bookmarking to help rank it faster with the search engines and write some articles about your site and submit to article directories.

You need to generate back links to your website also by leaving comments on relative blogs or other sites.

This is the basics but will help.

Question by b1911: SEO – Search Engine Optimization – If a page got indexed, but you then remove the page, is there a way ….?
If a page got indexed, but you then remove the page, is there a way to remove it from the listing or do you have to wait until the Search Engine crawls the entire site again and realizes that page does not exist anymore?

Google has a process that will allow you to remove pages of your website (or even your entire website) from their database. The first step is to put a “nofollow” instruction to the Googlebot in your metatag. Then you can use Google’s automatic URL removal system
http://services.google.com/urlconsole/controller

Here are Google’s instructions on how to remove a page http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35303

This is Yahoo’s instructions on how to remove a page from their database, which is similar to Google by making you put a noindex tag in your metatags first http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/deletions/deletions-03.html

We are wondering if this is normal pricing for SEO? Many of the things listed there seem to be one time setup….am I wrong? Is there a lot of tricks to SEO which is why they charge so much, or should I just take the time to do it myself…..

Thanks in advance for your help…

Honestly, you’d be better off learning it yourself – you never know what you’re really paying for, some of these folks (not saying this one is) can do some really hinky stuff that will mess you up.

Question by dglmohankumar: What is the Search Engine Optimization?

Best answer:

Answer by Neodiogenes
These are agencies and/or software programs that help businesses advertise more effectively on sites like Yahoo and Google. An SEO charges a commission for the service, which is usually worth it since the business doesn’t have to deal with the nitty gritty details of this kind of advertising.
