Question by ikenna: when I configure a vpn active directory in my home, do i need to register the domain name to connect users?
for example my ip is 10.10.80.80 and my domain controller is forward.com. should I register forward.com on internet or just leave it on the domain controller

unless forward.com is registered it won’t be found outside of your LAN.

If you have a fixed IP address (10.10.80.80)……use that to connect from the outside in. If that is dynacially assigned by ISP it will work for a period of days till your ISP changes it.

If forward.com isn’t registered and you didn’t buy a static Ip google DYNDNS updater, you may be able to use that.

Question by |||||: Cheap domain registrar that does NOT take days to make your domain active?
I can’t use 1and1, because they take forever. I’m looking for something cheaper than .
i’m not looking for a host. i have one. i’m looking to purchase a domain and not have to wait days before my site is live. some hosts hold up the propagation process because they have a lengthy order verification process. remember, it has to be cheaper than . i think you have to purchase hosting with godaddy to get their cheap domains.

I have never had a registrar take more than 10 or 15 minutes. Perhaps what you’re really looking for is a hosting provider?

In any event, I’ve used godaddy.com as a registrar for a long time and I’ve never had a domain registration take more than a few minutes.

You can get a godaddy coupon code anywhere. Codes for a .95 .com registration are available and do not require you to purchase hosting. You can use ‘cjc695dom’ or ‘OYH3′. These expire every few months, but there’s always a new one and they’re easy to find.

I was recently checking my account and some of my previous ads have been inactive for a couple of weeks. First, why did they become inactive? Secondly, how do I make them active again?
