Question by adam0149: What is the best online advertising program, besides Google AdSense?
I used Google AdSense until they diabled my account for “invalid click activity” (which I did NOT do!).

Please let me know of any other good third party advertisers (that won’t disable your account when you start making money).

Thanks.

Adsense does not disable accounts when you make money – Google LOVES it when their publishers make money for them because that means more money for them too. Google disables accounts because the publisher cheated, generated invalid clicks and generally failed to follow the program policies.

If you are looking for alternatives — and some such as YPN is stricter than Google Adsense (YPN even disables accounts that generate too much traffic from MySpace or what it deems as low quality sources of traffic), here are some of them

Yahoo! Publishing Network (currently in beta and available to US publishers only) http://publisher.yahoo.com/
Intellixt http://vibrantmedia.com/site/web_01a5.htm
Quigo Adsonar http://www.quigo.com/adsonarexchange.htm
IndustryBrains http://www.industrybrains.com
Commission Junction Evolution http://www.cj.com
Kanoodle Brightads http://www.kanoodle.com/about/brightads.html
Clicksor http://www.clicksor.com/affiliate_programs.php
Contextweb http://www.contextweb.com/
Bidclix http://www.bidclix.com/
Bidvertiser http://www.bidvertiser.com/

Also join a banner advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.

you can do free blogging style websites at Wordpress.com or blogger.com. You can post any of these on the website. Wordpress has a slew of plug-ins for any type of content you can think of.

Question by myportraitdrawing: Besides Search Engine Optimization, what are other cheap easy ways to get traffic to your website?

Best answer:

Answer by ravyn007
- Links from other sites to your using specific keywords
- XML/RSS feeds
- Make sure the title tags on your site are short but descriptive
- Key words in your alt tags
- Manually submit your site to the major search engines
- Make sure there is text on your page that gives enough information to search engines (search engines do not read images)
- Create and maintain a good site map
- Regular updates to your site with date of last update on your site specified

Lastly you can try a simple Google adwords campaign (you can even set limits so you do not spend more than a certain amount per day on click throughs). You can even use the adword tool just to see how popular your particular keywords are.
