It’s just just a simple matter of wanting to work from home. You have to do your homework very thoroughly. This is not a get rich quick type of thing, it takes a lot of time and hard work. Believe me, I’m self employed and have a home business which is in Internet Marketing and I’m very successful. I’ve been doing this for over seven years.
For whatever business you want to do, you can find tons of info by doing a search on Google or Yahoo. A lot of them will want you to buy their so called “Make 0,000 in a weekend.” But don’t fall for it. Everything takes time and patients. Again, remember to do your homework first.
Good Luck,

Question by bmw: What should i know before buying a domain name?
Can i just casually buy a domain name and try and create a forum and if it doesn’t work just sell the domain name? After one year, what if i don’t pay the fee for my domain name will they just take it away? Am i assuming any risk by buying a domain name?
Best answer:
Answer by AMAN
see the domain name is a name of ur site ..
u can auction the domain name but the chances of sale are less.
if you do not pay the fees for the 2nd year then your domain name can be bought by anyone else who pays the fees.
there is no risk in buying domain name

Question by Marshall Glickman: Can you Help?>How to Prevent My Domain search causing others from buying the domain name I’m interested in?
Hi: do you know if searching for a domain name either directly as typing it in on a browser or searching for it on a site like Network Solutions, Who Is, or GoDaddy or some other website, makes it more likely to be reserved by someone else [who will then try to sell it to you]? If so, are there any tips or articles you can recommend to avoid this problem? [my experience in the past is that my own search caused this to happen.]
thanks for you help,
Marshall

Well the data you’re entering or searching for is only visible by the website provider like GoDaddy.com / Network Solutions and most likely they’re not really using it. But only they could see this information but with these thousands of search queries each day, even if they would wanna track it, I really doubt someone at their headquarter with access to this information would “steal” your name since the amout of data entered each day / hour would be too massive…
I must say your past experience might just’ve been bad luck…

Question by marvel ous: Is there a difference between buying a domain name or hosting a website?
I’m looking to run a website for my father and I saw on yahoo.com that you could choose between hosting a website, and buying a domain name. I’m not too familiar with buying/hosting domains and websites so I’m clueless as to what I should have my dad do.
What would be better to do? Host a website or buy a domain? Or are they just about the same thing?
Thanks!

Domain name and hosting a website are two different things.
Domain name is the name of the URL. Just like the domain name of Yahoo is yahoo.com ; google is google.com
All websites require a server to run on. When you access a website, you’re actually accessing a server. That is hosting a website.
When you want people to connect, you will need to give them something to connect to. It can be the IP address. However, for certain reasons, people want to mask that IP address. They do that by hiding it behind a domain.
Some hosting companies offer free domains, although they are usually not very attractive. I hope this answered your question. For more information, please do read up on Wikipedia about DNS and domains, since what i have stated above is a simple explanation
