Question by wilyum: What does it mean when a webhost says you have unlimited domains under one account?
When I buy a domain and host service, say www.domainhelp.com, do I have to pay extra for the .ca, .org, version of the same domain? I would like to own the .com, .org, .ca version of my domain, as well as the .com and have them all link back to the same website. Thanks

Yes, you will have to pay extra for the .ca and .org, etc. Most hosting companies, like GoDaddy for instance, will offer you a deal for the other domains if you purchase the .com, but they’re not free.
Unlimited domains under one hosting account means that you are paying a monthly fee for a hosting account for your main domain, like www.myname.com. If you then buy another domain, like www.myname.info, you can have all the files for the .info pages held in a folder within the public folder of myname.com. Then, simply configure the .info domain to point to the .info folder and a start page. If you just want to have the .info domain show the same content as the .com domain, just configure your .info domain to point to the index.html page of your .com public folder.

Question by soylent_greenspan: I want to sell domains on eBay so how do I transfer the domain to the buyer?
I have never sold a domain before but I have about a dozen to unload so how hard is it to go through this process?
Weird, Yahoo! answers says I have four answers to this question but I can’t see them.

Depends on domain name extension (.com, .info, .it, …), current registrar and whether it’s a newly registered domain name or if it has been transfered recently.
The usual process is to “push” the name from your account to the buyer’s account at the same registrar. Some registrars refer to a push as a transfer or account change. There is no charge for a push. If buyer doesn’t have an account with current registrar they can usually open one at no charge.
A transfer refers to changing registrars and involves a renewal fee. Generally a transfer can’t be done if the domain name is less than 60 days old or if the contact info has been changed within the last 60 days.

Some country code tld domains, e.g. .ca have different processes and you should confirm with registrar.

Question by ??????: If people hate spam so much then why do they never send abuse complaints to a domain’s registrar?
It’s so simple, it just blows my mind why people aren’t doing this in droves and why spam still exists today. All you need to do is go on a WHOIS site, enter the spammer’s URL, and then look for the registrar’s domain, visit it and click on their abuse link, then send in your complaint. 10 minutes later, the spammer’s site is taken down! Why aren’t more people doing this?

you CAN do that but the spammer is just going to keep sending spam mail.
Spam mail will never stop

Question by torontosmile1: How to Find All the domains from a certain domain registrant?
I need to find all the domain owned by a certain registrant. I tried using reverse ip but that only gives a list of domain hosted on that ip. Is there any tool out there that searchs the Whois DB based upon the registrant name?

Try yahoo or their #1 rival.
Other than that, no. Registrars aren’t too keen on revealing domain name registration records to third parties.
