Question by boardnut101: Is it legal to register a domain name that has an existing company name as part of the domain name?
For example – could Ford Motor Company have legal recourse if someone registered the domain name: ChicagoFord.com or FordCarsNow.com, etc.

No it is not legal, it is considered cybersquatting. You can not use trade marked names in your domain name.

we have a web site with yahoo, (janespuppyplace@yahoo.com) we signed up for your site hosting plan. now we would like to transfer our existing site to the new location so that we can update etc our page. how do we do this ?

Question by Mister Teacher: How much is reasonable to pay for an existing domain name?
Someone already owns the domain name I want, but he’s not using it. What is a reasonable amount of money for him to charge me to sell it? He wants 0. That seems quite steep to me.

Question is, how long till it expires and how badly do you want it. It’s not about what a fair price is, but how much you want it and how cheap you can get it. Try to haggle, then ask yourself, is it worth it?
