Question by TRC: How do you transfer a website created in Geocities Free to a personalized domain when you upgrade to Geo Pro?
I signed up for Geocities Free with my Yahoo ID, and then decided to upgrade to a Geocities Pro account (using the same Yahoo ID). However, when I created my website, I did not realize that I was creating in the Geocities Free account rather than the Geocities Pro account, so it did not publish to my personalized domain. Does anyone know how to transfer/move/redirect/copy the page to the personalized domain created in Geocities Pro? I tried using the redirect feature but now everything is missing and the website at my personalized domain still says “under construction.” Did I do something wrong?

You can redirect your website to the geocities page, if your provider allows redirection. Some providers charge for that.

I use http:www.Y-Domain.com and i redirect my web pages.
It is free. Check it out.

Thanks.

Question by Download G: Can you add a domain name to a free hosting service like geocities?
I just registered a domain name, and I have an account with geocities. Can I register it with geocities, so that when someone types in the domain name, my site shows up?

I think at best you could redirect the domain to this Geocities account. If you have a domain name, you should just purchase a shared hosting account somewhere. It is well worth it to pay ~5/month and get the extra options of a real hosting account.

you can do free blogging style websites at Wordpress.com or blogger.com. You can post any of these on the website. Wordpress has a slew of plug-ins for any type of content you can think of.
