Question by TheHumanist: Is a com domain name important for a free hosted web site or not ?
I currently have a free hosting space at 000webhost and a free domain name, but unfortunately i cannot see either of them on search engines.
The two domain names are : co.cc and heboro.com
The space and bandwidth i have is enough for the content i uploaded and it would be cheaper if i obtain a .com domain name instead of paying for a better hosting every month.
I want to know , if i obtain a .com domain for my free hosted web site, will it be shown on search engines ?

I think whether you use your own domain name or not doesn’t really matter in this case. To allow search engines to pick up your website, you need to submit your website on other websites which are visited by search engines. You can do so by submitting your website to directories, make comments on blogs, and etc.
But still, do allow some time for this to happen. Maybe 1 week, or it could be 3 months.
Of course, having your own domain name will look better/more professional, and easier to type in the url.

Question by b g: is search engine optimization important for online business?
Best answer:
Answer by lookforadam
It depends what kind of business. It’s almost always good to sit at the top of the search engine rankings, but you need to assess whether that’s actually a realistic goal given your market and competition. If it’s not realistic, then technically SEO isn’t important because in those cases there are usually better more efficient ways to market a business.
Also, SEO is a long term marketing strategy that doesn’t pay off the effort or money you put into it for many months, possibly even years. Because of this, many businesses focus on paid search instead.
Still, the power of good search engine rankings for often used search terms can’t be underestimated and for most businesses it makes sense to at least perform the rudimentary basics of SEO ( http://www.adambunn.co.uk/seo-beginners.php ) from day one, so that if in the future it does become a priority the foundations have already been laid.

The foremost important rule is that your domain must be active and must be at least 60 days old. There are other rules which depend on the domain registrar.

How about trying the FBI or Police first? Even if you contact the hosting site, and they are suppose to be responsible, nothing may get down.
