Question by bigmartincut: I want to create a site for restaurant reviews & want to find the best place for a domain name with hosting.?
I’m willing to pay a little extra, if necessary, for something that is both reliable and simple (simple as in easy to build the webpage that I’d like). I’d prefer a site that handled the domain name, web hosting and e-mail account(s). I appreciate any advice. Thanks. :)

Question by Ahmad: Is it possible to get a free domain name??
I know that domain names are not free but I saw once that you can have a domain name if you put a number of posts on a forum (200,300,400…)
does anyone know a forum provide this

Some hosting companies will get you a free domain name if you get a certain plan, but it isn’t free cause you have to pay for the plan. I have never seen the thing about forums giving you free domain names, but it would probably be paid for by ads(the more pages they have, the more places to have ads. The more users the have will also allow more ad companies to want to advertise.) , anyway the only totally free domain ever, is dot.tk. They don’t have .com’s, they only have .tk’s. There is also and ad page on that. Nothing in life is free!

Question by Penelope: How do I put my e-mail address on a domain name that I just bought?
I just purchased a domain name and if someone types in that address, I would like it to have my contact info there incase they are interested in purchasing it. How can this be done?

Best answer:

Answer by Gandalf Parker
That information is probably already part of the whois record for that domain. Most people who are knowledgeable about domains would use that anyway.

But if you want it on the webpage then just go ahead and create a webpage for it. You probably got a space for that when you registered the domain. There might be a temporary parking page there now but you can change it if you want.

Question by will: How do I set up hosting account on godaddy.com domain name?
I recently purchased a hosting account with cpanel resell. I purchased a domain name from godaddy.com to set this hosting account up on. I have already updated the DNS on the domain name but get an error message:

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Is there additional steps I need to take besides updating the DNS?

Try deleting the ‘.htaccess’ file from the root directory.

Its very easy.

1..Login into your blogger account.
2..Go to http://www.blogger.com/home
3..Click Settings link under your blog heading.
4..And then click Publishing tab
5..Add your domain name in Advanced Settings
6..Set Use a missing files host = No
7..Fill Captcha

Last step is to add a DNS Record. If you dont know how to add CNAME, just provide the following two values [Name And Value] to your hosting administration and ask them to add this CNAME record.

Name: www.yourdomain.com
Value: ghs.google.com

Your done.
