Question by LePetitPrince: I need a webhost that offers membership for visitors. Can you please help?
like paying membership.
I already have my site of 3 years, on another web host and I’m thinking of making a little bit of money out of it. I get about 25,000 visitors per month.

the new web hosts are really difficult to use.. like I don’t know anything about FTP manager and PHP it’s all confused.. and now this new fantastico feature is really not practical.. Help!

http://www.DependableHost.net !

You can use their control panel, and create unlimited username/passwords to access a certain part of the site. You can have your main homepage, then restrict access to a “members only” area.

Their support department showed me how to do it – and I had it setup within minutes – seriously!

Use their “1 month free” coupon before the end of the year – and you can try them 30 days totally free of charge!!! Good host, highly recommended!

Answer by daniel j
Yes. If you want to built your own independent website than you will need a domain name registered first (under your name preferably) and than web hosting.

Some hosts will do the whole process as one transaction ie. they let you choose and register the domain name and than offer you the hosting in the next step (or the other way around depending on webhost).

However if you only want any website and dont care about having it fully under your own domain (or are on short budget) than there is large number of providers and host who will give you some space for free and with domain such as YOURCHOSENWEBNAME.theprovidersname.com and similar.
