Question by darkhat032: How do I find the EPP key to transfer a domain away from Network Solutions?

Best answer:

Answer by Andriyko Chuk
I assume you need a transfer authorization key of some sort.
By law a provider is required to provide you with one if you request if of them.
It also maybe that your domain is “locked” in some sense with your provider, so it may be necessary to ask them to “unlock” it.

Answer by alisonsgarden
Here are some reviews, it seems that indeed that Fused Network DOES suck. If you are running wordpress or Buddypress, its best to look elsewhere.

Question by JR4NOTAXES: I’m installing Apache 2.2.6 on Windows XP via the .msi; what should I enter for Network Domain & Server Name?
By default, it puts the Network Domain of my ISP (example: if my e-mail ends in @comcast.net it puts in comcast.net). For Server Name, it prefaces the Network Domain with my laptop name (e.g. machine-name.comcast.net).

I’m installing Apache on a laptop which accesses the internet through a Motorola SBG900 Wireless Gateway Cable modem. I’m only setting up Apache because it’s required by an Open Administration Tool I’ve installed which I plan to use to administer a local database copy (e.g. probably accessing localhost through my browser). So I’m confused why it’s asking me about network domain and server name if I’m not going to be using it to get to a web server (I’m only simulating use of the open admin tool software to administer a local copy of my database via localhost). Or am I missing some concept here?

Apache is the web server. Normally, you would need to enter a domain and servername so that people trying to get to your apache server would know what the name is. Since you don’t need people to get to your server, then you can just accept the defaults. It won’t hurt.

Question by jkwinnersall: Can somebody tell me the different between web 2.0 (social network marketing) vs. Search Engine Optimization?

Best answer:

Answer by semspot
Marketing via social networking sites can generate a large amount of traffic in a short amount of time. This revolves around you writing articles for your website. Those articles are then either submitted by you, or someone else who had read it to there social networking site. Some social sites work better then others depending on what it is you are writing about. You repeat this process over and over again with writing good articles and having them submitted. You also want to try and build up a profile on your favorite social networking site. This adds great credibility to not only your article but as to the comments you leave. The more you submit good content, leave great comments the more you will be known on that site. By having a power profile, you have gained the readers respect by posting great things and those people will visit your site more often to read what else you have written. Now if you have a website and it never changes, you are never adding new content to it, then social network marketing will not do that well for you in my opinion.

With SEO you are tailoring your website around not only your readers, but to the keyword(s) you are trying to rank for. You are trying to build up your backlinks either by directory submissions, having a great write-up that others link back to or even buying links on other sites. Even with SEO it is a good idea to add new content to your site, have content written about your industry. This gives you more to work with and a better chance at attracting other people’s attention to link to what you have written about. There is a lot more to SEO then most think, the to do list can be quite long for most. I believe that writing good articles and posting them on your site should be a part of SEO. This will give you more content for the search engines to spider through and gives you a better chance at getting more backlinks from reader who liked what you wrote.

In a nutshell social network marketing revolves around how much you interact on a socail networking site (digg, reddit, etc.) to build up your profile with the rest of the readers. Once you have done this (takes a good amount of time and dedication) you will see a lot more traffic to your site on a daily basis. Writing a great article will drive traffic to your site for a few days if it hits the front page, but you will not make the front page every day. By having a power profile you will gain readers who will visit your site everyday to see what else you have discussed. This is the essence of social marketing, you are not only marketing your articles, but your profile as well. Many companies use these social networking sites to help there clients establish more backlinks to there site. As we all know backlinks are a big factor in your rankings, the more the better.
