Question by wisconsin_woodsman: How do I transfer a domain to a home network web server?
I have 2 Domains, lets say domain. com and domain.org. Domain.org was purchased thru Yahoo! I would like to transfer this domain to my web server IP in my network. I have gone into the proper panel and renamed the name server but being I had only 1 Ip to give it as a name server it was rejected.
I have a static IP
I have a static IP and my own Web Server

Your domain needs to continue to be registered through a domain registrar, such as Yahoo. You’ll want to use their name servers, or an alternate relaiable one like www.dnsexit.com. Then just create an A record and point www.domain.com to your home IP address. Do you have a static home IP? Most people don’t, but if you use dnsexit.com for your DNS, they can set up dynamic DNS for you.

Question by Ryan: How do I create a network domain name for a server?
I have a server sitting in the corner of my house attached to a super high speed connection. I need information on how to create a name for the domain if I already have the hardware in my possession, and I was wondering if there were any guides on how to set up the software.

for the email xxx@yahoo.com, the domain name is the yahoo.com. Server name in the name that you assign to the computer, it can be any name. But usually SRV1 or SRV2.
