Question by velvet: Domain name/hosting geek squad please?
When you look up a domain name on Whois, if a domain called mydomain.com is registered through GoDaddy.com, with the Registrant listed as the owners name, who owns the domain?

If the Whois server is Whois.GoDaddy.com, and the domain servers in listed order are: NS.RACKSPACE.COM and NS2.RACKSPACE.COM, what does all of that mean?

Is the domain name (mydomain.com) registered to the person/company that created it, or is it a subdomain on somebody else’s web domain? How can you tell when researching the name on Whois?

What is the difference between the company that a website is registered through (GoDaddy.com) and the domain servers?

they used godaddy to register it, the owner owns the name

sometimes you may not know who owns the site, some people may pay extra and have their info hidden, like godaddy’s service domains by proxy

domain servers are who is hosting it, they do not register the domain in most cases, they just are providing the hosting

Well you need to put Google ads on your website. You need to try different places on the page where you put it, and try different colors too. The position and the color of the ad can mean really a lot. Just don’t put too many ads on your website, it will make your visitors away. And the last thing is to bring as much visitors as you an on your site and that’s it. After that just double what you are doing to double your income.

I bought a very good domain for on ebay. I knew there was something wrong. But for I wasn’t really thinking. The bidding had ended and I was the winning bidder. When i checked the domain on google, I found out the domain was blacklisted. The list was January 2007.

The url is http://www.revbeergoggles.com/spamme…s/bloss-ip.txt

and a couple other similar type of websites.

What can I do? When the ban is gonna be lifted? Am I supposed to report to somebody to lift the ban?

Does this mean I’m not gonna be indexed by search engines? Does this mean I’m not gonna be able to send emails because most email providers block my domain?

I haven’t paid for the domain yet. I really like the domain. What can I do? Please helpp..

I checked the domain on whois.domaintools.com, it says
Response Code: 200
Blacklist Status: Clear
Domain Status: Registered And Active Website

The domain is hosted on godaddy.com. Do I need to contact godaddy and tell them the problem?

it is not a big deal
go to Google Webmaster Tools get an account and there is a way there to contact google for reconsideration. it is fairly fast process and as far as i know they actually very dynamic these days with their site consideration, so if your site does not contain forbidden material you’re safe
