Question by KristenCO: What can I do to get the highest search engine placement possible for my Web site?
I remember back in the “olden days” of search engine optimization, it was mostly about the keywords in your META tags. Now, that clearly is not enough. I’m curious what I can do to optimizes search engine placement without paying thousands of dollars for someone else to do it for me. What are those people doing to get top placement?

first, you need to write great contents that will holds your visitors. seriously, Google consider this very seriously!
secondly, market your website for real visitors, not just for the sake of backlinks. Google can slowly know how the visitors react to your website from then on.
Last but not least, build highly effective website. Honestly speaking, I found SiteBuildIt have extra advantage as fas as SERP is concern. at least, 30% of my webpages ranked in the first page og Google with SiteBuildIt.

Their name sure sound weird but they are serious about the web hosting business. They are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. As compared to many other web hosts, they don’t suck.

Question by Phil: How is it possible to register a domain with name servers as sub-domains of itself?
For example, if I register ilovecandy.com and want the name servers to be ns1.ilovecandy.com and ns2.ilovecandy.com, how does it work?
How do other DNSs know where to look in the first place?
It’s kind of a closed circuit, isn’t it?
Thanks!

It all has to do with domain names.
All domains live with in a common name space.
If looking for a site, the computer asks the local DNS if it knows it, if it doesn’t know it it asks a Top Level Domain in the Domain Name System for the location of it. It start with the dot domain (the . in a domain) it then asks where is the com domain, (.com) it will then query that one for the domain name or the owner of the name really the registrar (lets say godaddy.com in this instance), it then returns the registrar to the query, it then passes the request to the registrar (godaddy) where is ilovecandy.com, which is returned with a name server for that domain. The system then requests from the Name Server, where is NS1.ilovecandy.com and is returned with an IP address of where NS1 in the ilovecandy.com domain is.

Question by . .: Is it possible to uncover the IP address of a user on deviantART?
I’m asking not because I want to find out where said user lives, but because I want to compare the IP addresses of two accounts, because I think that they might belong to the same person.
If this is possible, please let me know.
P.S. A Whois domain lookup does not work for me, as it only gives me information about the deviantART domain itself, instead of the individual user.
Thank you =)
