Question by seven_70: Is there such thing as a free or very cheap private registration service for domain names?
Private registration costs too much if you want to apply privacy to a large portfolio of domain names. Is there a solution? The registrar that I use charges .95 a year per domain name. I have close to 200 domain names. It costs me a lot to renew my domain names already. I don’t want to be paying so much for privacy too.
By the way, I use GoDaddy, their private registration is too expensive. Sometimes they have deals, but not too often. Usually privacy will cost just as much as registering a new domain name. So, I’m ruling out GoDaddy for privacy.

Question by Zerrah: should I get private registration for my domain?
I really don’t want my information shared for this website, I’m going to be using a pseudonym, basically a “pen name” and I want what I write to not be attached to me. However, I don’t want to give away ownership of the domain. What should I do to keep my privacy intact?

Question by Rj: Can I get Private Domain Registration or a .org domain?
I want to get a .org domain. Can I keep my registration info private or does it have to be public? Are there any limitations to the use of .org? It’s not my first choice but it is what’s available.

Some domain hosts have a service where they will keep your info private (basically they put up theirs instead.) No there aren’t any restrictions, though it would look bad to use it for an obviously commercial site, IMHO.

So if you are making a commercial site, you might want to consider some of the unusual TLDs like .info or .biz instead.

Question by Christina M: My private info is available on whois search. If I pay for it to be private now, will it be deleted?
I didn’t pay the extra fee for it to be private when I bought the web domain and it is available on a whois search. If I pay for it to be private now will the info on whois be deleted?
