Howdy! I didn’t see this in my Dummies book for the specific MySQL instance on Yahoo! Small Biz web hosting. I’m trying to connect, and get the error “Can’t connect to local mySQL server through socket ‘tmp/mysql.sock’ (46)”… The string I’m trying to use is below, copied from Yahoo! Help. The table sits in the “mysql” database, and seems vanilla enough (for an ASP guy, anyway). But no workie. I know this is going to be a simple question, but after three days of noodle-scratchin’, thought I’d ask. Thanks!

Hello, I bought a .us domain earler, and i was going to get whois guard protection, but now i seen that it don’t offer whois guard for .eu and .us domains, so if i put in a fake phone number by few digits, could i loose my domain, or will they have it on expire, where i could transfer it some where else? The reason i ask this is because i hate to give out my phone number to the public when they whois my domain, because i know some have nothing better to do but prank call a phone number and register junk mail to a address…. so if anyone can tell me any tips on how to protect my information without getting a new domain plz do.

Unfortunately ALL registrars who offer .us domain registrations require complete accurate contact information. If you input any fake details, you risk having the .us domain name suspended and eventually deleted should someone report it.

My old website is in the servers of a hosting company.

My new website is in my servers.
http://efvet.intercol.edu/
I want to set the domain name of my old site on my new site.
I go to the control panel of the hosting company and I see this control panel.

I click on the DNS Conficuration and I get this panel

I had click on the Add DNS A record
http://www.flickr.com/photos/spartancode…
and I added the domain name:
http://wwwW.efvet.org
to test it and it’s redirecting me to the new website.
I also added the
http://www.efvet.org
but it’s not redirecting me.
How can I set my domain name efver.org on my new website ?
