www.myspace.com. It’s called MySpace. Most teens have them and as long as they are set right they can be perfectly safe.

Question by Joe G: I registered a domain name of creditscoreselfhelp.com recently. Why does a name search state it doesn’t exist?

Best answer:

Answer by Greg G
By name search do you mean searching the complete the name in Yahoo, Google or whatever?

If thats the case, and it doesn’t show up, the search engines haven’t indexed your pages yet. This can take weeks or months to happen. It depends a lot on how your website was developed.

I checked and your name does show up on Google, not Yahoo.

Good Luck,

Question by Hbee1: I recently purchased a domain name, but in doing a search on Yahoo, I don’t find it. How long should it take?
My domain name is www.pastorswifesnewsletter.com. If I type it in an email it automatically links to my site. However, I’m unable to fine it on Yahoo or Google when doing a search. It’s been about 5 days since I paid for the domain name. Shouldn’t people be able to find my site just by typing the domain name in their browser?

A lot of people get confused about where they are supposed to type in a web address.

For websites that Google and Yahoo already know about, typing the web address into the search box in Google, Yahoo, etc. will work.

But for a new website, and/or one that doesn’t actually exist yet, this won’t work – instead you have to type the web address into your *browser’s* address box, this will be higher up on the screen than the box for Google or Yahoo – it is usually just beneath the browser’s window title. It’s the place where you can always see the address of the page you are viewing; the text in that box will usually start with “http://” (though you can omit that when you type into the box).

I just did that with your site and it loaded just fine.

But once your site has been indexed by Google and Yahoo, you will be able to type its address into Google’s or Yahoo’s search box. In fact, if you want to speed that process up a little, you can submit your site to Google here: http://www.google.com/addurl/ and Yahoo here: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
