Question by eliselane: How to get back domain that was being registered and with purchase confirmation?
On October 10, 200, we have registered www.duocuisine.com which was available for registration at that time. A purchase confirmation for this domain was received from ipower Web (the provider) at Oct 10, 07:52:14 AM PDT and later followed with an e-mail on account setup confirmation on the same date at 08:26:23 AM PDT. When we wanted to proceed to launch this domain web site, we were unable to set up with the password given.
We contacted ipower web about this and they told us the domain was already taken by other party.
After checking with WHOIS, they e-mail us an information that the registrant is Keyword Marketing, Inc. at P.O.Box 556, Main Street, Charlestown, West Indies, KN, United Kingdom and the record was created on October 11, 2006.
We are very upset with this situation and would like to investigate into this matter. Could you please advise the method or procedure? Is there any association or organization that we should contact for assistance in order to get back www.duoc

It sounds like someone regsitered it before iPower got their act together.
Depending on what country you ar in, it may be worth going for a .com.au (Australia) or .co.uk (UK) – just pick the relevent one for your country.

It will be better for your sites rankings anyway

Question by Fl4k3z: What is the best free web host with no ads for a registered domain?
I currently have a domain registered with GoDaddy.com, and was using their free hosting. I don’t like their banner at the top of my page.

Are there any sites that offer good hosting with no ads for free? I have seen lists from doing searches, but I was hoping to get some real people’s opinions.

Thanks in advance.

You could always use wordpress.com though they do not allow Advertisements and if you want upgrades you have to pay.
1and1.co.uk (pay) is good though it can be a bit expansive
lite-hosting.net (pay) is very cheap (last time i checked it was 50p a month) and they run wordpress. My mate runs with them and so far he seems happy.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by sha: I registered “houseofsha” as a domain name, i would like to use this name on another server.?
I cancelled my website serving service with Yahoo, but still wish to have my domain name. “houseofsha”. I would like to use my domain name on another server. How can i retrieve my domain name “houseofsha”?

If your domain name is not locked up – meaning that it is current as far as billing is concerned, you should be able to transfer it to another registrar. This experience will probably test your patience – just a word of warning!

You might want to seek a company that offers an end-to-end solution. For example, a provider that will allow you to register the domain name, as well as offer space on a server to host your web for a reasonable fee. They can then build the specific information in their DNS servers so your web will be available to the world.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

It depends on provider you taken domain from.

Generally domains (.com, .net etc) are never free and few providers who give in free charge high in renewal.

General cost of .com domains are 9 – 15 USD

Regards,

Question by Acesup: Is there a website that shows if a domain name has ever been registered even if it is expired now?
Sometimes when I am searching for domain names and a good one is available I wonder if someone had it at another time. For example I just registered twitterlogos.com. I think it is a decent name. Someone else already had twitterlogo.com and tweetlogos.com but not twitterlogos…makes you wonder if someone had it before.

In such cases, I would search the domain on http://www.Archive.org. If results are found, I can take a look how the website used to look like in the past.

I would recommend registering with JordanSoft; I have been using them for two years and they are cheap and reliable.
