Question by BlueYonder: How is it that registering a domain name of on godaddy.com is so cheap?
I mean, what is the reason, is it because they only allow you to register a domain name and not the ftp space etc which is supposed to come with it? What is the reason?

I am trying to make a website and am looking to get a domain name with space.

its best if you get youre domain name from godaddy then find a server. Some of the package deals register the domain name in the servers name and then when its time for renewal you might not get the same name unless you stay with that server.

Question by Abdurrahman G: Would I face problems registering a domain right after it expires?
According to Whois.net, the domain I want is already registered by someone else and is expiring in about six days. Given that the purchase is legal and the domain actually expires and I have the chance to get it, will I face any legal issues (or other) from its original owner?

Note that the domain is actually useless and does not point to anything relevant, trust me on that one :) .
Thanks! I have alternatives but there is always that perfect domain name that gets the best search engine rankings and, thus, yields more.

No u will have no problems providing the original owners do not renew their contract you are fine. if they renew it u can always try buying the same address with a diffrent extension eg…… .biz .co.uk .org etc… hope that helps

Question by xlovergirl: Where do I start on registering a domain name on my own?
Where do I start on registering a domain name on my own? I’m not asking for GoDaddy or any other domain registrars to register it FOR ME. I want to know where can I register/claim a domain directly. To try and make the question simpler, where or how does GoDaddy register domain names for people who want that available domain name?

Best answer:

Answer by dhana
You can start registering your domain names in Godaddy.com itself. Or you can find some of the registrant like dreamhost, bluehost similarly. Before you host a domain, decide in which platform you will be working? I mean you are running you site under LINUX or Windows.
