Question by Sue A: If you have changed your domain name, how do you get the search engine list to return the new domain name?
New domain URL has been used for the past 9 months.

Set up some webspace using the old domain name, and set a global redirect there that directs all visitors using the old domain to the new one. A global .htaccess mod_rewrite will do this.
You’ll need to decide whether you want to just redirect everyone using the old domain to the home page of your new domain (that’s the easiest), or whether you want to get your fingers really dirty in trying to map all your old domain name URLs to the new URLs on the new domain name.

Question by sam_a_winn: Is there a company that actually offers free hosting and domain name in return for ad placements on the sites?
I’m looking for a 100% free host and domain name. That will give me free hosting of a wordpress blog in return for ad-space on my site. Does such a service exist?

If you are happy with a .info name you can get one from Godaddy.com for only .99 and there are plenty of sites that offer free hosting.
Its a bias recommendation but you can go to djlsolution.com for free space.
They do offer a free domain when you pay for a year of unlimited hosting which is only a month (cheaper then suggested above…) but I would recommend the free package since it’s my favorite price!
Good Luck!
