This isn’t completely relevant but it’s still a cool story.

sorry about being off topic somewhat but it does talk about making money online fairly easily.

They are very reasonable for websites and email. Plus if you want real “LIVE” tech support theirs is A+

Question by kmichaelmaloney: I need some marketing help. I have a domain name that SPEAKS to a particular market I am targeting?
I want to approach companies around the world who’s product or service would make sense under my domain name and market there service/product on my website. How would I approach these companies to advertise on my site and how much could I even begin to think to charge them to do so. I appreciate all your insight and help!

This is done very often and its called affiliate marketing. You can go to a website like Amazon.com for example and sign up for their affiliate program. When people click on the link to Amazon’s site from your site an affiliate number tracks all the people who come from your site and you get a percentage of all the sales.

Depending on the kind of product or service your “affiliate fee” for bringing them traffic and sales can range from a very small percentage of sales to up to 50% for digital download products like e-books and podcasts.

There are also advertising programs for major companies where if you put the links (usually with a small banner ad) to those companies – again the traffic and sales are tracked and you get a percentage of the sales. It’s free to sign up for these programs and you need to update the banners now and then on your site which sometimes change with the seasons of the year – but the whole thing is pretty easy.

So check out what’s available in the way of affiliate programs first.

What if you want to approach a company that does not have any kind of affiliate programs in place? You need to go to that company and tell them you have a website that gets a lot of traffic and that you believe that your visitors and customers would be very interested in their product category. So instead of developing your own product – you decided to approach them about becoming a distributor. It’s the “don’t beat ‘em – join ‘em” philosophy.

I suggest you write a letter and consider even sending it FedEx so it’s sure to be opened. If these are large companies – look for a copy of a book called, “The Power to Get In” by Michael Boylan that’s all about gaining access to major decision makers in businesses that usually have a bunch of gatekeepers around them.

Hope this is helpful to you.

All the best,
