Question by justanotheruser: Someone stole my domain, how do I get it back?
Basically a webhost has seized my domain because they claim I failed to pay them. But the information in the whois database indicates that I’m the owner, how do I get my domain back?
I paid them up front, for one year of service. Then they came around asking for money within that year. In fact the Better Business Bureau has more than 150 similar complaints. I’m not giving them any money I don’t owe them.

Question by William P: A hosting company stole my domain name without do process?
I hosted with ait hosting service and when I decided to move my domains to another hosting service they decided to change the registration of the master domain to their company. How can I fight this e legal action? I contacted ICANN but they do not seem to have much advice.

Quite common for hosting companies to offer free domain with hosting, and they retain ownership of the domain. I doubt domain was ever yours to begin with. Too bad, but unethical is not illegal. You will probably find notice of this in all the fine print you agreed to when opening your hosting account.
Your only hope is if your name was listed as owner at the time of registration and they did an illegal transfer, but I doubt it.

Question by Jolly: How can I remove my personal information from WHOIS if someone stole my credit card number to reg. a domain?
I noticed some shady charges on my credit card, and after much searching, found that someone used my CC number along with my real name and address to register a domain. The domain is being used to send out spam and maybe run some kind of overseas pharmacy scam.
The card has been cancelled and I have contacted the registrar in Australia to see if they can help me. Should I be doing anything else to get my name and address removed? I don’t want people to think that I am a scam artist. Now I’m so worried, I keep checking the WHOIS. When will it go away? Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks,
Sad&Worried
