Question by Bikram M: Search engine optimization?Domain Age in seo terms?
Hello guys I have little confusion about seo optimization. My question is that suppose a domain name that is 14 year old has 6000 links (check by typing link:www.domain.com). On the other side there is a site that is 8 year old and has 3000 links. Which domain will come top in the search assume that they both are optimized for the keywords. How big of role does domain age play when it comes to seo?

The difference between 14 yrs old and 8 yrs old will not matter at all. Domain age is really only a factor when sites are new or relatively new. Age of links is probably slightly more important.

Question by Stephen B: free website host which i can earn money from adverts on legally applying to their terms and conditions?
is there any so i can go on an affiliate website put the advert onit?
Best answer:
Answer by Doctor Deth
you are not going to make any money with affiliate programs just by getting a free website (which no one will be able to find since it won’t be a top level domain like www.business.com) and all you do is put links on it
you would be lucky if 5 people a year even found the website and 99.9999% chance none of them is even going to click on any links, never mind join or buy anything that will make you money
unless you have a real website with interesting constantly updated content that will actually attract visitors, you will never make any money with that website and you still might be lucky to make a month even if you get 20,000 visitors a month, which a very small percentage of websites get

Question by TexasInHoc: How big are the servers used by the largest domain hosting companies? In terms of hosting capacity and in size?
Best answer:
Answer by Zenn
Wow Tex, that is a hard question to answer because you are being very broad in your question. To give you a simple answer, the size is different than your home computer in that servers are normally flat (not all, but most). They reside in racks on rails. The largest size is dependent on the type of server used by the hosting company. Capacity wise, you can have as many as 8 – 1tb drives and 64gb of RAM in one server with an elaborate amount of cores. These servers are expensive but they can hold numerous instances of virtual environments allowing them to be web hosting companies.

Question by skitzil: Is a listing in the Yahoo! Directory still valuable in terms of Search Engine Optimization?
I’m considering the option of listing my website in the Yahoo! Directory. Before handing over 9, I’d like to know if it still has high value to search engine algorithms. I have heard that DMOZ.org has lost a bit of value recently, with the advent of social bookmark sites. If that is true, has anyone heard the same regarding the Yahoo! Directory?
Thanks!

well the yahoo directory doesnt give you a direct link to your site, so you dont get the seo benefit of that link.
It doesnt hurt, but is it worth it……. I honestly didnt see any changes to my traffic after trying it, and I still have less pages in yahoo than any other search engine.
