Yeah man. Just keep a back up of your web site. Them owning the web space doesnt mean they own the website.

Also, just make sure you own the domain.

Question by Polly M: Can Yahoo! register name servers for a domain I purchased through another registrar (godaddy.com)?
I already have a domain name. Most search engines can find my web site. Yahoo can’t. I’m going to have to start telling customers not to use Yahoo as the search for my business doesn’t work on Yahoo. my web site: www.ufoservices.com (registered domain name)thank you. If your customers know the website’s URL, why would they need to use Yahoo, or any search engine, to get to it?
If search engine placement in Yahoo is what you are looking for, well that’s tricky and just takes time and a good website design. I know Yahoo has a paid service to get your site spidered quickly. You may also want to consider revising your site’s meta tags and paying for ad space on Yahoo.

Question by spiffycrony: What receipts do we get when we book a domain name through an internet company?
I have booked a domain name 2 days back through an internet company. I got no receipts till now. I see my name on the whois.com for this domain name. I emailed the internet company and no replies till now. I want to know what receipt I should have inorder to claim that this particular domain name is mine. Suppose tomorrow I opt for another company as my host then how do i tell them that this domain name is mine? By the way I made the payment for the domain name through a bank cheque.
Thanks for your answer. My doubt wasn’t whether the domain name i got is unique or not. Today I registered the domain name through one company. Right now i haven’t hosted my site. Now my doubt is how do i claim this domain name belongs to me or inother words how do i host my site using this domain name with another hosting company? I hope you understand my question.

you only get one receipt and that would of been at the completion of your transaction and it would of been up to you to have printed it before you closed your confirmation,

Now as proof, domain names dont work like you are thinking they do. To get a domain name the name you have selected is serched on the world wide directory of domain names. You would not even gotten the domain name if there was a duplicate. It is impossible for you to get a duplicate, it is strictly inforced before you were even given the name. A domain name is translated to a numeral address. such as a made up one 201.234.84.897 it shows as a name but it is converted to the number when it communicates over the internet. So it is impossible for two same address to exist. the page would not display because over the internet the protocal would be corupted. You have nothing to prove to anyone, you own it, you use it, if you type in your domain name and it goes to your page, end of story. In short I tried to not be to technical version, I can break it down to bits and packets or binary if you want,,,, hehehehe

Question by tidefan2k4: If I sign up for domain hosting through google apps, will I be able to use my own html editor.?
I am doing a project for school and it must be done with Expression Web by Microsoft.

/yr domain hosting via Google sounds like a great deal if it is compatible with Expression Web.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, as long as the program you use saves the files in either:

.html , .htm , or .shtml

If it saves it as those types, then you can easily upload it to your google domain.

As for other things (javascript, flash, css, mysql, php) you would have to contact google and ask.

Hope this answers your questions :)
