Question by TRC: How do you transfer a website created in Geocities Free to a personalized domain when you upgrade to Geo Pro?
I signed up for Geocities Free with my Yahoo ID, and then decided to upgrade to a Geocities Pro account (using the same Yahoo ID). However, when I created my website, I did not realize that I was creating in the Geocities Free account rather than the Geocities Pro account, so it did not publish to my personalized domain. Does anyone know how to transfer/move/redirect/copy the page to the personalized domain created in Geocities Pro? I tried using the redirect feature but now everything is missing and the website at my personalized domain still says “under construction.” Did I do something wrong?

You can redirect your website to the geocities page, if your provider allows redirection. Some providers charge for that.
I use http:www.Y-Domain.com and i redirect my web pages.
It is free. Check it out.

Thanks.

Question by Piper: How do I transfer ownership of a domain name/web address?
I have a couple .com addresses I purchased on godaddy.com a while back thinking I would do something with them and never did. I think they would be desirable to someone but I have no idea how to transfer ownership of a .com address. I was thinking I would try EBay to sell them. They aren’t hosted.

Better to go and list them for sale at Sedo.com and if the names have type-in visitors you might make some money on Sedo’s parking pages!

: Will vistaprint let me transfer my domain without hassle?
This is my website: bodyjewelryonabudget,com
I’ve played around with the vistaprint trial but I can’t do much with it. I didn’t know I was gonna be stuck using the templates they provide. The domain name is registered to vistaprint and not me. I want to transfer to hostgator, will vistaprint let me and will they charge a fee?
Of course I meant bodyjewelryonabudget.com but that doesn’t matter. lol

It is usual for companies to charge your for a transfer of the domain name. The domain name could cost you less than but I’ve heard that they charge around – for the transfer. You should have bought your domain separately from a domain registrar and used it with vistaprint.
Nevertheless, whether they will do it or not, only they can answer. Call their customer support (or send an email) and ask them if they can transfer the domain over to you for a charge. If they do, pay the price, transfer over and be happy
