I have a w2k server and setting up a new w2k3 server with same domain name. The w2k domain is brokent and can not be restored. Need to export user accounts from the AD and import into the new w2k3 AD. Same Domain name. The users desktops seem to loose their profile when I connect to then new. Question by . .: Is it possible to uncover the IP address of a user on deviantART?
I’m asking not because I want to find out where said user lives, but because I want to compare the IP addresses of two accounts, because I think that they might belong to the same person.
If this is possible, please let me know.
P.S. A Whois domain lookup does not work for me, as it only gives me information about the deviantART domain itself, instead of the individual user.
Thank you =)

Question by Nick E.: how do I get SMTP mail server,POP3 mail Server, Domain Name, and user ID?

Best answer:

Answer by Barkley Hound
In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need POP3. It is also needed when using any program or right clicking on a file to directly send email. It is free in the UK, AU, and NZ but in the US you must pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows:
Incoming (pop3)
     US – plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com SSL 995
     UK – pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 995
     AU and NZ – pop.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 995
Outgoing (smtp)
     US – plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465 TLS
     UK – smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 465 TLS
AU and NZ – smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 465 TLS

NOTE: The same servers are used for ymail and rocketmail. Use the entire email address as the Yahoo ID.

You can also look at the program Ypops. I have no recommendation for or against.

You need to use the migration feature of active directory.

I am not however giving you an active directory tutorial or even pointing you in the direction of one.

Because if this is your job and you cant do it then you should not be there.

Sorry to sound harsh about this but I run into people all the time that just BS their way into techincal jobs then cant do anything.

Go do some research and learn your profession, dont leech of the rest of us that bothered to learn the basics.

LMAO… fine give it a bad rating cause I spoke the truth and hit a nerve. Shows that you are neither a) qualified to do the role you are in and b) capable of taking on critisim and using it as a tool to better yourself.

I hope you enjoy flipping burgers with a mentality like that.
