Question by Scotty: If I buy a domain name from Yahoo can I then let my work to use it and build a website using the domain?
I found an awesome domain for an outreach project I’m doing for work, but I don’t know much about building websites. If I buy the domain, can our web design guy then build a website using it — or could it be a problem that it’s registered with Yahoo or in my name? (I know my work wouldn’t care that my name’s on it, I just mean from a technical perspective of getting it up and running)

Shouldnt be an issue, but it’s not very professional, i dont think the web designer would want to do that, but ultimately it is up to management.

I have been searching for a domain name registrar and I can’t stand the user interfaces many companies offer for domain name management. Many are too cluttered and focused on trying to get more of my money. I just want to register a few domain names and manage them all in one place without having to deal with all the clutter. I have used surpassdomains.com in the past and I like their domain management interface but I need a domain reseller that offers identity protection for less than per domain. I would like to find out what software surpassdomains uses, and other domain registrars using that software. Thanks!

1) Get a text editor and make the site again; this time it won’t have any MSGarbage.

2) Google “web hosting”, pick a hosting company (call tech support and ask how you go about setting up a site with them – if they won;’t help you to get your business, they won’t help you once they have your money). I’ve been using goDaddy (http://www.godaddy.com ) for years, and I’m happy with them. You can buy your domain name from the hosting company in most cases (GoDaddy is an accredited registrar).
