There is no such thing as on-line “money making” jobs. They are all SCAMS.

Get a real job at a factory, office, store, or restaurant.

Question by csmoll: Who owns a domain name if a designer stops working on the website?
We asked a designer to build our website, and he acquired domain names for it. He was since relieved of his duties, but the domains are registered in his name. We’ve since launched the business and he is refusing to turn over the domains to us. What are our options, aside from the costly WIPO/NAF procedures? Can we sue in small claims? We are in Wisconsin.

Sorry, he owns the names. You can buy them from him.

Question by je: The internet isn’t working because of the DNS (domain name server). How can i change the settings? ?
I tried to connect to the internet and it didn’t work. I clicked on diagnose and repair and it said it’s because of the DNS (domain name server) and the problem has to be solved manually. I don’t know how to solve it. I don’t even know how to access the DNS settings. I’m not even sure if that’s the problem but i tried everything from turning windows firewall off to connecting to a different network, so i guess there’s nothing left but this.
NOTE:
I’m using windows vista home premium. I have this problem on my laptop. I’m using a wireless connection. I don’t know much about computers so i’d appreciate some help.

I really appreciate it when people actually describe their problem like you just did and provide relevant information. With this information, I think I can actually help. Thanks.

If you click on the Start menu and go to the Control Panel you can click on the Networking and Sharing Center. On the left hand side there should be a task pane. Click on the option that says `Manage Network Connections`. In the new window that opens up, right click on your connection and choose Properties. Under both the TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IP/v6 Properties menus, you should click on `Obtain an IP address automatically`. To be safe, you should disable and then re-enable the connection before testing.

If this doesn’t work, you can go to a different computer on your LAN with proper DNS settings and go the Start menu and choose the Run command. Type in

ipconfig /all

Write down the DNS servers and go back to the computer with the incorrect DNS settings. Back under the Properties windows for both the TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 options you can click the button that says `Use the following DNS server addresses` and enter the addresses in the field beneath it.

Question by Bailey:): Internet not working. Domain Name Server may be down?
I’ve been trying to access the internet from my home computer for a few days now, and my laptop as well, i’m using my phone to post this, but I have Windows Vista and I’ve tried everything possible to fix it! The webpages cannot be found, and in the network and sharing center it says it won’t connect to the internet.
I’ve tried restarting my computer, reseting my DSL broadband box, and more. But when I hit auto-find the problem, it comes up and says The Domain Name Server may be down. This problem cannot be fixed automatically.

What should I do!?

call your ISP’s technical support number. they’ll have you redo the process of rebooting your machine and rebooting the dsl modem but the steps beyond that will flow pretty quick.
