Question by spanamj: Does Yahoo offer any domain proxy or anonoymous registration services when you purchase a domain through Yahoo
Some domain registrars offer anonymous registration or proxy registration when you purchase a domain through their company. This means people cannot just run a WhoIs check on your domain and get your home address and home phone number. I’m considering upgrading my Yahoo mail account, but I won’t bother if no anonymous service is available. I don’t really care to post my home address and telephone number all over the internet. And if you register a domain name without a proxy of some sort, you’re basically doing just that. I know Yahoo keeps my information private now, but do they do the same thing if you register a domain name (which is a little different than their free services) with them?

Question by frank_a_duck: Newbie Yahoo! web hosting + PHP Connect question?
Howdy! I didn’t see this in my Dummies book for the specific MySQL instance on Yahoo! Small Biz web hosting. I’m trying to connect, and get the error “Can’t connect to local mySQL server through socket ‘tmp/mysql.sock’ (46)”… The string I’m trying to use is below, copied from Yahoo! Help. The table sits in the “mysql” database, and seems vanilla enough (for an ASP guy, anyway). But no workie. I know this is going to be a simple question, but after three days of noodle-scratchin’, thought I’d ask. Thanks!
< ?php
$link = mysql_connect("mysql", "USERNAME", "PASSWORD");
mysql_select_db("mysql");
$query = sprintf("SELECT * FROM ft4h_calls");
$result = mysql_query($query);
... etc..

for most of the search engines you have to pay for them to endorse your site for example my mom is a realtor in houston and owns a website but they dont show it on search engines.

Question by mperla2003: how do I transfer my yahoo small business domain name name to my 1&1 account?
How do I transfer my yahoo small business domain name name to my 1&1 account?
Best answer:
Answer by Leslie
Well it is two different things really, do you want to host your domain name with 1&1 or do you want to transfer the registar (ownership) of your domain name to 1&1. Easiest way is to host your name at 1&1 contact their tech support and they can help you transfer the DNS from one to the other.
What do you think? Answer below!
